Description

The Cleveland National Forest is the southernmost of the national forests in California. Its 567,000 acres are located in Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties, at elevations ranging from 460 to 6,271 feet. A warm, dry Mediterranean climate prevails over the Cleveland National Forest–hot in the summer and mild in the winter. Most of the forest vegetation is chaparral, predominantly coastal sage, chamise, manzanita, and ceanothus.
